Christy graduated with a Bachelor’s in Life Sciences and a Minor in Public Health from the National University of Singapore in 2024. Her interest in medicine began during her polytechnic years where she was intrigued by the underlying mechanisms and biological systems that make up the human body. During her time in polytechnic, she also developed an interest in teaching when she participated in a Youth Expedition Project (YEP) to the Philippines and curated curricular content relating to life skills and good health practices for the local community.
Coupling these experiences together, there began her journey into health advocacy where she realized the importance of public health and raising awareness, as well as the impact of lifestyle choices on health. During her final year of her undergraduate studies, she was mentored by Dr Mayank and was introduced to the world of cardiovascular health and diseases. Through the various clinical experiences, she saw the value and importance of improving health literacy in the population and not to take education for granted even in Singapore – thereby coming onboard Heartly!
Outside of her professional endeavors, Christy enjoys hiking around Singapore and exploring new food recipes that she believes can be both healthy and tasty!
